The Canon C200 uses a 16:9 sensor at 24.6 x 13.8 mm. For example, is S35 land, the ARRI Alexa has a sensor that is 4:3, 23.8 x 17.8mm. BTW, although most manufacturers call their cameras S35 or even FF, there's nothing that sets their sensors to be the same size. I use a FF camera for still photography because it lends itself for it. The camera has to provide more than just that to make (at least my mind) change to it. But (for motion picture work) it is totally unnecessary to just replace an S35 with a FF just because the wind is blowing in that direction. However, both S35 and FF has become a marketing campaign. S35, as its name implied although not necessary equivalent, was born out from the origins of motion picture 35mm. Set that aside, IMO FF is excellent for still photography. But that doesn't mean they produce better image quality. I agree that the winds are blowing towards FF. So again, IMO, it's just marketing campaign. All of these are marketed as Super 35, but if you put the same lens on each of these cameras you’ll end up with a slight variation in the image crop. Blackmagic with their 23.1 x 12.99 mm in the BMPCC 6K. Panasonic gave the EVA-1 a 4:3 sensor at 24.89 x 18.66 mm. But it is totally unnecessary to just replace an S35 with a FF just because the wind is blowing that directly. S35, as its name implied although not necessary equivalent, was born out from the idea of motion picture 35mm. Their sensor has gone from 1.7 times crop to 1.35 times crop in five years, so even there the move is undeniable. With the pace at which things are going I’d say Ursa will be full frame within five years. Venice, LF, Monstro on the high end, FX6,9, Kinefinity and Zcam on the low end. You won’t NEED a full frame camera, but most manufacturing (which will trickle down to the lower end quickly, just look at the disappearance of mft in video) is going full frame.
